A linguistic & hands-on experience:
With the CPI Costa Rica Social Work Program, improve Spanish communication and deepen your knowledge about the Latino culture while enjoying the gorgeous Costa Rican tropics. Designed in-house, this program is directed toward all professionals working in the social service fields and includes one weekly visit to a local agency that provides support services to the local community.
Outside of Spanish classes, you are welcome to participate in numerous cultural activities and/or tours. You have the opportunity to learn the most popular dance steps during Latin dance class and whip up typical dishes during cooking class. Also available are visits to museums and historical sites or guided nature tours to: volcanos, cloud forests, mangroves – providing the chance for eco-tourism and animal viewing. Adventure is abounding, as well! Fly through the tree tops with canopy zip-line tours, bungee jump, tree climb to view the spectacular mountain sunset, white water raft, snorkel in the blue Pacific waters or learn how to catch a wave with a 2 hour surf class.
Who would love this program?
Open to all social work professionals with an interest in improving both Spanish and cultural capacities for attention to their Latino clients, the program includes: Spanish classes, talks, and a weekly informational visit within the social service community. Small class size maximizes learning in all linguistic capacities – reading, writing, comprehension and speaking - with the goal that each participant receives personalized attention.
